DESCRIPTION:Spend your upcoming PA Day at St. Cuthbert’s Church with A Rocha Ontario!\nAt this 1-day nature camp\, your child will have the opportunity to learn about and build a personal connection to the natural world. Each nature camp program will be filled with nature experiences\, science experiments\, storytelling\, nature-based art and fun games! Together\, we will explore nature from both familiar and new perspectives\, building friendships and fond memories along the way. \nThis event is open to children ages 5-13. \nSliding Scale Pricing\nWe believe in the value of our programs and we know you do too! That’s why we have introduced sliding scale pricing this year; we are happy to have you come at any rate you select. Instead of a fixed fee\, you can choose from one of four fee options when registering: \n\nAccessible Rate: Choose this one if cost is a significant barrier to you attending and/or you identify as a member of a community facing systemic barriers to wealth accumulation (ie. you identify as BIPOC\, single-parent household\, low-income family\, etc).\nSubsidized Rate: Choose this one if cost is a barrier to you attending. We are able to offer this option due to the generosity of our supporters\, including donors and grants.\nTrue-Value Rate: This is what we estimate to be a fair cost for the event. DESCRIPTION:What can churches do to care for creation?\nJoin A Rocha Ontario and Mennonite Church Eastern Canada on Saturday\, March 7th for our joint event “Churches Caring for Creation – Idea Exchange.” \nYou are invited to join us to explore how Christian communities and their leaders can get involved with creation care. More people are becoming interested in making creation care part of the way they serve God and neighbour\, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to start or where to go next on this journey. So join us for a morning of inspiration\, conversation\, and encouragement! At this event\, we’ll hear stories and insights from experienced panelists representing different congregations (see below). We’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in smaller group discussions to share creation care tips\, ideas\, and challenges. \nThis event will be hosted at 800 King St E\, Kitchener\, ON from 9:30am – 11:30am\, and is open to adults and youth (ages 16+). Light refreshments will be served. \nWe look forward to hosting this event and welcoming participants from different denominations and backgrounds to participate in this discussion! DESCRIPTION:I don’t know about you\, but I’m counting the days until spring and until our habitat restoration work gets underway. The good news? We don’t have to wait.\n \n\n\n\nJoin us for a Native Plant Seed Starting Workshop and Volunteer Day. This will be a hands-on way to prepare now for the projects that will grow in the months ahead. \nWe’re grateful to be joined by Rick Wukash\, who has generously gathered and prepared a variety of native plant seeds for this workshop. Rick will guide us through the quiet marvel of seeds\, how they’re designed for resilience\, renewal\, and growth. He will also teach the practical skill of cold moist stratification\, an essential step for many native species. \nTogether\, we’ll plant trays of native plants that will later be used in our habitat restoration projects. Whether you’re new to restoration work or have soil permanently under your fingernails\, this afternoon will be a meaningful way to learn\, serve\, and invest in the healing of local ecosystems. \nCome get your hands dirty\, your hope stirred\, and your spring started early. \nWorkshop and Volunteering: 2:00 – 5:00pm EST \nSoup and bread supper to follow. \nAdults and families are welcome to participate. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.
