DESCRIPTION:Now is the brief time of year to see Spring Ephemerals that are emerging with the warmth!  \nThese flowers have adapted to emerge before trees develop all their leaves. They only last for a few weeks in the spring before they disappear again! If you are interested in learning more about these unique plants come to Cedar Haven on May 4th from 2pm – 4pm while we have an expert botanist lead us through a hike focused on our Spring Ephemerals. \nPlease note that registration is required for this event as there are limited spots available.  The cost of registration is $10/person. DESCRIPTION:Join A Rocha Ottawa for our Annual Wild Flower Walk\, Potluck Supper and Evening Program! \nIf you are unable to the afternoon activities\, feel free to join us for supper and the evening program. \nSchedule:\n2:30 pm Wildflower Walk \nJoin us in Gatineau Park for a walk along the Lauriault Trail. Features of this trail include spring wildflowers\, Mulvihill Lake\, a view of the Ottawa Valley\, a waterfall\, and the ruins at the Mackenzie King Estate. Meet at the Mackenzie King Estate (Parking Lot 6) any time after 2:00 pm for a 2:30 pm departure time for the walk. SUMMARY:EarthKeepers Club (May 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The EarthKeepers Club is a space for youth (ages 12-16) to connect with others their age that have similar interests in the environment and conservation. An example of a typical day might look like a work project to remove invasive species in the morning\, followed by a discussion over lunch about what it means to be a good steward\, and wrapping up by catching and identifying dragonflies in the afternoon. Through this program\, we aim to make a tangible impact and have fun along the way! \nThe EarthKeepers Club currently has no cost to join and runs from April-November\, on the second Saturday of each month. DESCRIPTION:Once a month meet-up with people mobilizing earthkeeping at churches. \nAre you mobilizing your church to care for creation? Do you wish more people shared your interest? Then join like-minded folks for a Church Earthkeepers Meet-Up. At these monthly sessions we’ll learn from each other by swapping stories as a way to encourage and equip us to catalyze earthkeeping at church. Come prepared to share your ideas and to hear what works for others as we build a network of regular people working to care for creation within a local church setting. \nThese online gatherings will take place the last Tuesday of every month at 5 PM – 6 PM Pacific Time (8 PM – 9 PM Eastern Time).
