SUMMARY:Lamenting Lost Creeks: A Lenten Journey (Winnipeg\, MB)
DESCRIPTION:Lent is a solemn Christian practice of reflection\, repentance\, prayer and fasting. This 40 day period leading up to Easter invites Christians to intentionally set aside time to deepen one’s faith and commitment to God. \nYou are invited on a lenten journey focused on lamenting with God and creation for creeks and rivers that have been lost\, degraded\, or altered as a result of human demand. \nWhat will this journey look like? In addition\, Scott will share briefly about another river in Canada and/or the world to be held in prayer/solidarity along with the place and people who are impacted by the demands placed on it.   \nWe will walk for a total 30mins (return). During our walk you are invited to contemplate\, pray (silently)\, and if you are able pick up garbage (bring gloves/bags). \nRSVP HereSchedule: Click the link for google maps directions\nWEEK 1: 6pm Monday – February 27 – Omands Creek: meet at the Chapters parking lot off Empress St. \nWEEK 2: 6pm Monday – March 6 – Colony Creek: Meet at the west entrance of Mostyn Place Park (street parking) \nWEEK 3: 6pm Monday – March 13 – Brown’s Creek: Meet beside the roundabout at Stephen Juba park (street parking)  \nWEEK 4: 6pm Monday – March 20 – Inkster’s Creek: meet at the parking lot across from the Witch’s Hut in Kildonan Park  \nWEEK 5: 6pm Monday – March 27 – McLeod’s Creek: meet at Edison Park (street parking) \nWEEK 6: 6pm Monday – April 3 – Seine River: CHANGE of location!
