DESCRIPTION:In light of COVID-19\, we are implementing changes in all areas of our work.  As Volunteer Day activities take place outdoors\, we are still moving forward with this event but are taking extra precautions to maintain social distancing\, provide hand washing/sanitizing stations\, and cancelling our communal lunch. Please stay at home if you have had symptoms or traveled\, or have been in contact with someone with symptoms or who has traveled in the last 14 days. \nCome care for creation at our Brooksdale Environmental Centre! Catch a taste of A Rocha as you lend a hand alongside the team in our garden\, habitat restoration projects\, heritage site and grounds and more. DESCRIPTION:Please note that the Centering Prayer Mini Retreat has been postponed\, due to measures to help contain the spread of COVID-19. \nWhether you’re new to contemplative prayer or have been practicing this form of connecting with God for years\, you’ll enjoy a deep dive into the practice of Centering Prayer. \nBased on the teaching of Fr. Thomas Keating\, Centering Prayer is a simple method of silent prayer that prepares one to experience God’s presence within. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. \nThe day will include lunch\, refreshments and times of teaching and solitude at the beautiful Brooksdale Environmental Centre. \nFacilitator:  Fran Perry \nFran Perry is certified by Contemplative Outreach to teach Centering Prayer.
